Our board of directors has significant experience building companies across a broad range of sectors.   The Board meet regularly to drive forward the ambitious plans of Gofal Enterprises.



Nigel is the Corporate Director and founder of Greenaway Scott. He has over 18 years’ experience in acting for companies in the life-science and specialist technology industries from inception to exit. 

Nigel has extensive experience in acting as the lead advisor in all corporate finance practice activities, including disposals, acquisitions, MBO’s, Investments, stock market listings, insolvency and corporate recovery.

Examples of sector specific and published transactions are set out below.

  • lead advisor on the USD$76,000,000 disposal of Brecon Pharmaceuticals to AmerisourceBergen Corporation in 2006.
  • lead advisor on the multi-million pound disposal of Biotec Worldwide Supplies Group Limited to PCI in 2014.
  • lead advisor on the multi-million pound disposal of the mass spectrometer company Markes International to the Schauenburg International Group GmbH in 2012.
  • lead advisor on the multi-million pound disposal of Unite Technologies to Panduit Corporation in 2012.
  • lead advisor on the reverse takeover of Enfis Plc (AIM Listed London stock exchange) in 2010, and the subsequent Placing fundraise by the acquirer PhotonStar LED Group Plc in 2014.
  • lead advisor to Imspex Diagnostics on its multi-million pound fund raise in 2014;
  • lead advisor on the multi-million pound acquisition of Pinnacale Telecoms in 2014;


Matt has over 10 years experience in senior business development roles for charities in Wales.

He has overall responsibility for increasing the portfolio of businesses developed and operated by Gofal Enterprises Ltd (GEL). Matt is experienced in business planning, strategy development, tendering and contract management. 






David’s early career was in law, establishing his own successful legal practice offering Commercial advice regionally in South Wales before moving into the labelling and packaging industry.

He was involved in the turnaround of local labelling company – Label Image- growing revenue from £175,000 to £9.5 million over a 5 year period in the early 90’s.

Following the sale of Label Image to Ferguson International PLC he managed a joint venture between SPEAR Inc. and Ferguson for the supply of packing in Europe. He went onto manage SPEAR Europe from 1999- 2009 increasing turnover to $38 million and establishing a Greenfield manufacturing site in South Wales.

In his time with SPEAR Inc. he negotiated joint ventures with major suppliers in Europe, Russia, South Africa and the Far East.  As company Director he managed the intellectual property assets of SPEAR group internationally and negotiated multimillion multiyear supply contracts with various international customers including Heineken, SAB Miller, InBev, Diageo, Bacardi, Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola and Procter & Gamble.  He has interfaced at senior levels with Banks and Venture Capital providers and their lawyers, accountants and other business providers in company acquisitions, mergers and sales.



A Chartered Member of the CIPD, Kate has worked in the management development and HR arena for over 15 years.

Having formerly gained extensive experience of founding and growing companies in the business services sector, Kate has worked both at board level for other companies as well as running her own HR consultancy. This gives her a unique insight into her client’s issues, because she’s been on their side. Not only does she understand what it’s like to deal with those issues, she also knows how to resolve them.


Kate Methuen Ley (Non-Executive Director)

Kate has more than 14 years private sector marketing experience across a range of sectors (retail, drinks, pet food, chocolate, insurance, B2B, medical supplies), up to and including Head of Retail Marketing at Brains, covering commercial strategy and process plus the full marketing remit including brand, product, customer and trade marketing. Development and successful implementation of commercial marketing and communication strategies and plans for businesses with turnovers from £20,000 to £80m per annum and beyond. Re-branding and re-positioning of a chain of pubs, a shopping centre and a chocolate brand, and creation, development and launch of a B2B online company.

She is experienced in the design, management and influence of marketing budgets from £5,000 to £6m+, and reported directly to the board or CEO for the past 6 years, both independently and with direct reports, influencing and engaging at all levels of an organisation from outlet teams to company chairman.

A champion of excellent customer service, and believes passionately in putting the customer at the heart of everything a company delivers

More recently Kate has completed a joint venture partnership with Zebra A/S to open and run the Tiger store concept in Wales.
